Dave Campbell is a lecturer in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Waikato. Research has included lysimeter studies of evaporation in tussock grasslands in Otago and microclimate investigations in Antarctica. Recently research has focused on micrometerological and hydrological studies within the raised peat bogs of the Waikato region of New Zealand.

Jeff Smith is undertaking his PhD research on the carbon and water budgets of the Moanatuatua peat bog. He obtained his BSc (Hons) at Otago University's Geography Department, where he researched runoff production in a tussock-covered catchment (Glendhu, Otago, New Zealand).
