This is timely because of recent national and international changes to charity law legislation and policies. In essence, the article has demonstrated that religious charities contribute significantly in economic terms to New Zealand society generally, and further, measuring the public benefit of religious charities through an economic lens may assist in determining the differing ways in which religious charities contribute to, and benefit, society.enThis is a published version of an open access article published in the journal Public Organization Review. © Springer 2025.The Economic Contribution of Religious Charities to New Zealand.Journal Article10.1007/s11115-025-00866-51573-709835 Commerce, Management, Tourism and Services3505 Human Resources and Industrial Relations44 Human Society3507 Strategy, Management and Organisational Behaviour4407 Policy and Administration3505 Human resources and industrial relations3507 Strategy, management and organisational behaviour4407 Policy and administration
