      Abstract
The vague sense of being unable to experience pleasure, and the rush to experience it quickly, episodically, and deeply, is a key paradox in contemporary life. Alternative sport (whiz, extreme, action, and lifestyle) provides an interesting setting for studying this contemporary anhedonic expression in the postmodern subject.
