      Abstract
This article explores, through poetry, narrative, and vignette, the interconnectedness of an individual’s well-being, wellness, and health with chosen leisure activity. As a recreation officer and community volunteer, the author has had extensive involvement with youth, youth culture, and activities, often within specific ethnic communities. HIV & AIDS has simultaneously transpired, with devastating effects, on communities worldwide. It is imperative that young people are made aware of the possible consequences of their [sexual] actions. The following vignettes attempt to enact some possible engagement points.
